Weekly Photo Challenge: Free Spirit

I love attending at weddings!

I was lucky enough to be one of the wedding photographers at the Digamon-Baliong Wedding held at Tagbilaran, Bohol. The church wedding was at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Church and the reception was held at Bohol Tropics Resort.

This photo, though literally says it all: freedom. The dove is released from both of the couples’ hands.

Although it literally depicts liberty and independence, the act of releasing a white dove during wedding ceremonies have a much more deeper meaning. The white dove itself is a symbol of peace, love, faith and fidelity. The white rock doves, used during weddings choose a mate and remain faithful for life. The release of the dove signifies the “Till Death Do Us Part” vows of the husband and wife.

I am on the process of making my portfolios. So please do stay tuned! 🙂
